SB SILVA is an industry expert that focuses primarily on cultivation and manufacturing facility design and engineering-assist. We design the facility, specify the right equipment, produce plans and assist the engineering process, and support the equipment through procurement, installation, and startup/commissioning. Throughout the development, we are educating and transparent with our clients so the entire foundation of the business is solid. Our clients learn a lot along the way, about the cannabis industry networks and the reasoning behind each and every decision that goes into the facility design.
We learned the process and have refined it over the past 10 years working on commercial cultivation developments all over North America. New construction, expansion, or an existing facility looking to retrofit, our team will be your competitive advantage.
Our extensive knowledge in the nascent industry bridges the communication gap within the development team with specific design details and considerations to ensure that the goals of the owner’s business and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) are met.
Over a decade of cannabis development experience as a multi-faceted expert in high-value crop production, facility design and programming, and equipment selections for controlled environment agriculture (CEA), cultivation, processing and manufacturing industries.

Airborne pathogens are the bane of large scale controlled environment cannabis farms, with the potential to ruin entire harvests and in extreme cases force facility closures for decontamination. Whilst working on new facility designs, Steven keep bumping into a name in the environmental contamination space - AirROS by SAGE Industrial - who were not only producing a game changing line of air purifiers, but who were also based in his home town of Fresno, California. So he reached out to set up a visit to find out more about their air & surface purifier technology using Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) & how it will change the HVAC landscape, which became an invite to tour their manufacturing facility.

Every cannabis farm has it's own localized battle with pests & mother nature, no matter indoor or outdoor, sooner or later some kind of pest pressure will enter and disrupt harvest cycles, often with devastating consequences. The trick is to keep pest populations under control and in cannabis that can be tricky as the very safe attributes that make great bud, make a delicious feast for any number of tiny grazers that want to steal the plant's nutrients - and there are not many safe options available to eradicate infestations. We were introduced to Kind Farms Winters, California, via our friends at Agra Tech in late '21 and after the shoot we got chatting with our host; Kind Farms COO Robert Starnes about the Integrated Pest Management program at the 50,000sq ft facility. It turned out that he's also the CEO of a company called Shale Peak Horticulture and he's an expert in all kinds of cannabis pests...and the predatory bio-controls that can keep them in check.
